Hi everyone. As I newbie I hope this is in the right place...
I am thinking of putting a bit of effort into online comping, as some of you appear to be doing very well out of it, but how much is "a bit" of effort? How many comps a week do you guys enter to get any success.
Also I have seen a few comps via rafflecopter which I have avoided and wondered if anyone entered these ones or had any success.
Finally, I was retweeting a comp last night and I retweeted what other tweeters had tweeted but I got a really snooty message form someone saying not to retweet their tweets (how many times can you fit the word tweet into one sentence? LOL). Was I doing something wrong? I thought that was the whole idea?
Your thoughts an comments on the above would be greatly appreciated. Good luck! x

You need to retweet the original tweet by the company running the competition not retweet the retweet of the tweet by someone else.0

Thank you. That is the sort of effort I was thinking of putting in, but I have a feeling some people spend all day in it. You have to be in it to win it though. good luck x2017 wins = £1350

I couldn't comment on Twitter as I don't use it at all. Rafflecopter I steer clear of for the related reason that you almost always need Twitter for it.
As regards how many to enter. How long is a piece of string. It's all relative but most agree that you pretty much get out what you put in. There are people on here that get 2 or 3 wins a day every day but they almost invariably are hardcore compers who enter every comp on here (and probably many not on here!). There are people who hardly ever get a win but again they are most likely compers who aren't interested in small prizes and may only enter a few a day.
Then there are those like myself in the middle.
I enter what many people would class as "a lot" of competitions but then again what many on here would consider a drop in the ocean. I would estimate it to be around 100 a day but I've never kept count. And that total doesn't include the magazine dailies which I class separately.
Over the 2 years or so I've been comping, I have had a few decent wins although nothing massive. Most months I get between 2 and 5 wins but this has been anything from a DVD or book to an iPad.
It is purely down to luck at the end of the day. You could enter 1000 competitions a day and of course you would average some wins but you might never get a big one. Or you could be one of the lucky so-and-so's that only enters for big ticket items and still hits the jackpot! You won't know unless you enter!
Good luck with it all and hope you see some wins soon xx0 -
As said above you need to retweet the original tweet not retweet from someone elses tweet.
I'd say on average I enter 50-100 a day depending on time free etc.
I only won once last month and nothing so far this month but I have only just got back into comping.
Previously when I was up to date on the comp board and only had to enter what I fancied as it appeared plus the dailies I won at least 4 things a month.0 -
I tend to comp mainly from twitter and have had a handful of wins. I've only been comping since the beginning of the year and have won almost £200 worth of stuff. Which isn't bad considering I can enter around 100 competitions a day and it only takes about an hour total
It's all for nothing aswell, so even if you enter a thousand competitions and only win one thing, it's free so worth it anyway.
My average is around 3 wins a month only entering the comps from this forum and few random ones I get on twitter (which end up on here eventually). I'd say it's worth putting the effort in because some of the prizes are really good!0 -

Thank you for your input. I am only entering comps I want to win and can accept so for example I am leaving baby comps alone and also holidays that I can't take during school hols ( I would be gutted if I won a holiday to Oz that I couldn't take time off work for lol.
I am new to this so have not got to grips with the dailies but maybe in time I will progress on to those.
Thank you again, it is most helpful. Good luck2017 wins = £1350

Wow that is an impressive score. I have only been at it a week so don't expect anything for months but fingers crossed. I think I need to start on these dailies that everyone is talking about. good luck for more wins x2017 wins = £1350
