Wow, default notice from First Direct after 6 days...

...late with payment! Is this usual?
I entered the DMP, which started on 1st April. My payment was due on 1st too for the loan. Never been late with a payment previously. I hold my current account along with the loan from First Direct but have opened a Co-op Cashminder account as advised.
They said they'd be closing my bank account when I told them about StepChange and they put my account on hold for 60 days until they hear from SC with an offer.
Just a bit surprised they did it all so quickly.

Is it a proper default notice or a charge default sum for late payment?:beer:0

It says it's a Default Notice served under section 87 (1) of the CCA0

Wow.
They have done you a favour really. As gone 6 years from the default date.:beer:0 -
In fact the letter was dated 2 April, so I was issued a default notice after a day!0

I guess they're efficient!
This is a good thing. It marks the beginning of the new chapter you've begun and as others have said this will help you in the longer term. Much more efficient than HSBC who told me that my accounts (like you there's a loan, credit card and overdraft) were on hold then rang a few days later!
Onwards and upwards!
