Private/personal investment loan

Hi all,

First post so be gentle :-)

With interest rates so poor for savers I was was wondering if a private individual can lend money in return for an agreed interest rate.

For example say I needed to raise 12k now and I knew I was getting a provable guaranteed larger sum of money Say 16k in 1 year to repay it in full plus say 10%.

This would give the lender £13200 and £1200 profit. Very attractive

Do such people/lenders exist and where do you find them if they do.

Any thoughts?

Its called getting a loan, and no lender will rely on a "guaranteed sum in 12 months" no matter how guaranteed it is!!

I give lots of loans to people. Almost always at a tenner a time. Most of them pay me back a few pence a month. It's so good there is a name for it. They call it Zopa.

It's never going to make me rich, but it helps keep my money away from any temptation to spend it.

10% return for such a risky investment is not going to tempt many unregulated lenders!
