Thanks for all the advice. I am purely losing it so I can wear better stuff and in case it gets to an intimate point, ahem. This is not confidence enhancing! :) I've wanted to do it for a while but just didn't commit. Should have lost my baby weight by now!

I don't drink or smoke. The only vice I have is sweet treats so suppose it's just a case of cutting that out. I'm not majorly huge but would love to drop at least one size.

I'm hoping to start a class with local Ad. Ed. (free) with crèche to work some off. I'm hoping Just Dance with solve some issues as I already have it all, easy to do with tot around and quick. How often would I need to do this? What length of time per day? I do a lot in the week so need to fit in bits here and there.

I have very vague ideas of how to do exercises so any help welcome.
Up and onwards to the future!

https://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/fitness/.../legs-bums-and-tums-home-workout.aspx‎ would be a great place to start, but I would add in the plank https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiA9j-dR0oM‎ sit-ups work the front of thighs more than stomach, you have the cardio sorted running round after the little one dancing (I envy you I have two left feet when it comes to dance) get some strength for your wobbly bits and joints will thank you for it later. but most important have fun with it if it becomes a chore you soon put off doing it, my grown-up children used to love playing yoga with me when they were small they kept me at it on the days I wasn't in the mood to play, in fact we had a who could hold the plank the longest a while back now to much amusement, now the youngest comes circuit with us, he can't be beat by his old mum :)

The food you put in your mouth decides the body you have - plain and simple. Exercise speeds up calorie burning, but do you want to run 5k or eat 500 calories less a day? You can't out-train or out-jog or out-cardio a bad diet and you can't lose fat in particular area of your body - sorry!

It doesn't matter what you eat, it depends on how much you eat. However, filling and nutritious food will keep you fuller for longer so you're not starving all the time.

Protein and carbs have 4 calories per gram, fat has 9. Therefore eat plenty of filling protein, enjoy carbs in moderation (carbs are easier to drop because your body doesn't need them; they are not essential and only used for energy).

    And read this article: http://www.muscleforlife.com/how-to-lose-weight-fast/

    Good luck!

    Great post :T

I'd rather run 5k a day and have the extra calories myself - but I LOVE my food :D

I do eat some crap - but I eat a lot more good stuff :)

OP - look up the Beginner's Bodyweight Workout on NerdFitness, and 30 Day Shred on Youtube (or order the DVD, it's £5 on Amazon I think). I did hours of light exercise like Wii Fit and Just Dance...but I didn't lose ANY size till I started doing heavy, heavy exercise :)

    Good luck!

I have also lost a stone and a half following slimming world but the only way the OP will change shape in specific area's is with toning exercise.
140lbs soft see's me in a size 14 140lbs toned see's me in a size 10/12 im happy with that even tho at 5'3 im still top end of the BMI for my height.

Of course you're right about toning certain areas. I lost sight of OP's original wish list to focus on just generally losing pounds.
