Royal Bank have never sent me a statement, it was like I was paper free automatically. I'll go on to my on-line account and see if there's a way to get one sent out to my address. Thanks 0 0

Hi, I'm sure you will be fine with asda, I haven't shopped online with them but I have successfully used it in tesco and sainsburys online, I am even able to use my barclays debit card at the pay@pump forecourt at tesco's :j. I have not had any issues in any shops, the only place I haven't been able to use my card is at a parking meter that only accepts offline cards, that was annoying at the time but they are not in my local area thank goodness! I think there may also be an issue on trains but I don't use them.

            Hi
I opened my Barclays account after my BR date and they couldn't have been nicer. I have also got access to my account online and mobile which is fantastic and there have been no problems.

Call me a cynic but...I suspect - but don't know - that both the Co-op and Barclays get some sort of inducement from the government to be BR tolerant, otherwise it would have meant many thousands of BR's stuck without a bank account which would be a massive issue all round.melissa-elizabeth wrote: »...The only thing that worries me is not having internet banking because it helps me keep on top of things better. I wonder why they won't allow it for bankruptcy customers.
I believe that Barclays decided that as there was only them and the co-op on the high street who would generally accept BR's, by (Barclays) removing internet access, most BR's went to the co-op. The Co-op responded by saying they were getting more than their fair share of BR's and countered by changing their rules so that only those with accounts opened prior to BR (or after AD) would be accepted.
Barclays will restore internet and mobile banking facilities after AD and some posters have said they have been told the 'no internet' policy will change in the summer - I'll be AD by then so no benefits as such for me.
Some BR's seem to slip under the radar for internet access at Barclays but generally its a facility they lose. Barclays will give you a weekly postal paper statement if you ask.
Although I miss my internet banking - the fact I don't have debts to juggle means it has been less of an issue than I thought it would and forced me to be more aware of what and when I spend and I keep a mental running total between weekly paper statements.0
