D&DD could you please tell me for your mum's iced sponge recipe, what size/shape tin is need (for the recipe as it stands- without doubling or tripling the recipe), what temp is it baked at? And for how long is it baked? Thanks!
  • Anything in the recipe book on chocolate concrete.
It looked like a brownie but was a lot firmer more biscuit than cake.
I tried so many ways but I'm missing something.
    Thanks for your time :-)

I do hope you get success with your cakes but I have a theory there was more to it than just the recipe.

We didn't have a kitchen at my school so the meals were delivered in those flat, aluminium trays with lids. They arrived at about 10.45 (as we were going in from playtime) and we had lunch from 12 o'clock onwards. Meanwhile they were kept warm.

The cakes/puddings seemed to benefit from what was effectively steaming inside the tray. The meals suffered.:(
