I went to Great Malvern yesterday but missed the show I was going to see by a country mile.

Public transport!!

Still the money went to a good cause.

However, Great Malvern is a lovely place to go sight seeing (right down to free mineral water from a decorated spring on Belle Vue Terrace) so I had a pootle round.

And came across this poster

DSC00155_zpsf88c29b0.jpg

That bottom line in the red stripe reads

"Donations help keep the service free of charge : www.repaircafe.org"

I think this is genius!

More councils should think about doing this.

Sorry about the quality of the picture - even though I had a 20MP camera on me, I automatically took my phone out.......
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Yes, I guess there are more than a few out there who don't know that many things are repairable.

I suspect it's not the not-knowing it's the "how to" part which evades most. Me included.

I'd love such a place to be near me. I also love coffee and cake.
  • Brilliant idea, wish I lived a bit nearer. Let's hope it catches on elsewhere.

It's not that they can be repaired its often that without the skill or knowledge to do it oneself its often not cost effective to,:(
