Gazette Website changes

I see the Gazette website has had some changes and now has London, Edinburgh and Belfast all on the one website (Instead of separate websites)

I can't find my Bankruptcy notice now since it was updated when i search for either my name or my BR number. Previously i was able to find it on the old website but it seems to have disappeared now since the changes.

I've searched for my number, name, and time frame and nothing. I gave the BR number to one of my creditors recently and then got a letter saying they couldn't locate any information and wanted more details. (At the time i thought nothing of it because i knew it was there, but now i think this might be the reason?)

Has anyone else noticed this?

Dont be sad. Think about before you went BR. Did you ever even give a second thought about bankruptcy? Did you ever think i must search this website to see if someone i know is BR?

Don't know about anyone else, but for me i didn't and the way i see it, the only person who would be looking in this website is someone i'm requesting something from.

BR just doesn't have the same stigma that it once had back in the day. Just look at the number of people on the gazette website!

  • I know you are right but it still feels like a bit of a slap in the face

What I don't understand is how comes it's free to search for IVA / bankruptcies but you have to pay to search CCJ's?

Good point. But either way it doesn't really matter does it. Its a small price to pay to get some breathing space in life.

Im sure you'd take your name on the website than go back to the stresses of all the debt.

Is it maybe because having CCJs doesn't put a restriction on obtaining credit/business directorship etc?

    Hi H

Regardless of any changes, this is still not info that one can just stumble across. If someone is absolutely hellbent on finding details of your bankruptcy, just remember the following:

    (1) Someone that determined would have found your details under the old system same as the new; and

    (2) They will already be 99% certain you've gone bankrupt and are simply seeking confirmation of this.
