  • Hi Gunwharf & Supersaver nice to see you. Another Monday morning - why do they come around so fast?

Good news, one of my non-payers has paid up, only three to go now!

The steak casserole was lovely last night. I could probably have stretched it to make another meal tonight, but everyone was enjoying it so we all ate too much.

Another weekend has passed now and I've done nothing in the garden. I was full of good intentions to do some work on Saturday but decided it was too cold. I suppose if I'd actually done some work, I probably wouldn't have felt the cold :o

I'd better finish getting ready for work. Hope everyone has a good week x
  • I'm 46 and my older brother keeps asking what I will be when I grow up.

  • Hi Supersaver! I ate my frog! The garden looks lovely :j for now anyway, but I swear the dandelions have come up overnight.

Non-payers have all paid up and the ones who haven't have been reported and blocked.

I cleaned the car and washed down all the windows. I've listed a few more items on Eb*y and have seven parcels to post tomorrow. I will definitely be unpopular in the PO queue tomorrow lunchtime.

I loved that youtube clip Supersaver, I am the queen of procrastination, so I will definitely try to eat a frog every day!

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break. I have become addicted to watching Storage Hunters and Storage Wars.

Its my first payday in my new job on Friday, so I'll be able to work out a proper budget and will tell you what's in my profit account at the end of the month.

I still haven't found the courage to find out what my balances are on the cards - I guess I've found my frog for tomorrow!

Confession time.........I spent about £40 in Wilkos on Friday. I bought a washing line (I've decided not to replace my tumble dryer for now) and some bits and bobs for the kitchen.............and, here's my big confession, I spent £50 in the local butchers on Thursday, but this included £31 for a huge leg of Welsh saltmarsh lamb. I fed 5 with it yesterday, today BF had lamb sandwiches for work and tomorrow, I'll be having lamb and mint sandwiches for lunch. This leaves me with enough left to feed 4 of us tomorrow night. It was absolutely delicious and it was a special Easter meal for my mum and my brother :D

Not a lot else to report really. BF's gone off to pick up his son (the 17 year old) . He's staying with us till Friday. His boys are lovely, but being a stepmum isn't easy, don't let anyone tell you different, you spend a lot of time biting your tongue.

Right, I'm off to lurk on other diaries, I need to visit the OS board to try and find some cheap recipes to keep us going to the end of the week.

    Bye for now x
  • I can't believe how quickly time seems to fly past at the moment!

I had my first payday a couple of days ago and its already all but gone. The good news is I've overpaid on all the debts this month.

Total paid back this month was £383.55

Total profit made in my Eb*y shop this month was £130 - not a huge sum, but its a start. £100 went into my savings account and £30 was used as an overpayment on my Debenha*s account. I know there are differing opinions on here as to whether you should throw everything at your debts or put some towards an emergency fund. At the moment, my emergency fund amounts to a sum total of £400 so I think that for now, I need to be paying into my savings as well.

Another thing that occurs to me is that I need more stock for my shop, so I'll have to sell some of my own unwanted stuff, cos I'm not using my card for anything this month!

I finally sat down this morning and worked out what I owe on every card - so here goes:-

    H*lifax Card - £3,195.00
    N*tionwide Card - £4,080.00
    D*benhams Card - £130.00
    N*xt Card - £360.00

Total owed - £7,765.00 (if I say it quickly, it still makes my eyes water!!).

The first one to go will be the D*benhams account. I had a letter from them last week to say that their interest rate is going up.

Its been a good day so far - I finished the chest of drawers that DS3's been putting together for me. I got fed up of waiting for the men in my life (3 sons, 1 BF) to finish it so I worked out how the drill works and did it myself :T

Not a lot else to report really, its spag bol with turkey mince for tea tonight, then its iron work clothes, before you know it, its Monday morning again!

  • Good evening - hi Giblet!

I can't believe its nearly Thursday already, it'll be the Bank Holiday before you know it :D

I think I may possibly have eaten too much :o I made a lovely curry and am home alone tonight so ate more than I should have. Nice though :o

Not much to report really. Sold a few items on Eb*y and my profit account is up to £42 ish. Not a huge amount but everyone has to start somewhere. My shop started off fairly quietly but it seems to be picking up a bit now - the thing is, now I need more stock. I received one package today and am very happy with it. I just hope I haven't made a huge mistake. My Bank Holiday will be spent sorting out my Eb*y shop, trying to make it look nicer and attract more buyers.

If I can use my shop to make up the drop in wages I took when I changed jobs, I'll be a happy bunny! My mum calls me a frustrated shopkeeper! I would love to have my own shop - always wanted one :D

I haven't had any silly spends since payday. The dentist cost me £60 and I had my haircut today in my lunch hour, it cost me £15.00 for a dry cut and I'm very happy with it.

I'm watching Storage Hunters tonight. I'm hopelessly addicted to it and I love Pawn Stars. I was talking to my mum about it tonight - she hadn't heard of it so I had to hastily explain the spelling before she started telling me off :rotfl:

I have a couple of items to package up so I'd better go and do some work - Storage Hunters will have to wait.

I hope everyone had a good day x

Lol - I told my dad that my mum was addicted to watching Pawn. I still don't think he's got over it :D
