missingink - alices are closed in so don't have the same ventilation, but they still don't seem to make my feet sweat  Been wearing mine lots recently now it's getting warmer and they look as good as new

Can't wait to get into my Sassari's again!

Makes me laugh when people say Crocs are ugly then were Birkenstocks! My neighbour wears them year round and they look awful on her! so ugly!

That's what I thought too, so last spring I splashed out on a pair of Alice crocs...they made my feet sweat(and my feet are usualy freezing cold all year round!) & the heel wore down at an alarming rate!

Much as I love some of the 'non-traditional' Crocs styles, I won't be wasting my money on them in the future. Think I'll stick with my Birkenstocks!:D

what sort of feet do you have, i have considered birkenstocks in the past but never bought them because i cant seem to walk with shoes that dont have a back, i get quite bad cramp in my feet if the shoe is not 'just right' for me

I always buy my genuine crocs from LookAtMyCrazyShoes.com which are based in Glastonbury - they are cheaper than you find in shops such as the Cotswold Outdoor shop:D

    Crocs are disgusting.

    They make your feet stink.

They were a flash in the pan and are now only worn by chavs.

    Actually you're wrong there.

They may make your feet sweat (though usually only the closed in ones and only if you're prone to sweaty feet) but they definitely don't make them smell. They are made from an anti-microbial, odour resistant material which doesn't allow bacteria to grow - no bacteria, no smell!

They are so comfy, I rarely wear anything else and trust me, I'm no chav!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

so thanks to OP who mentioned Sports Direct - not many pairs tho' and limited colours

SportsDirect have them on their website too - they only seem to have Cayman and Endeavour though - £15 for adults sizes and £10 for kids: http://www.sportsdirect.com/Products/Brands/Crocs/Default.aspx £3.95 standard postage (I can't seem to find a money off voucher at the moment) but you can get 6% cashback on Topcashback or Quidco.

They should be ok as they are one of the styles that have ventilation holes, the Alice do not.

I have narrow feet, am flat footed & suffer from a tendon condition so my feet are very fussy when it comes to shoes!

After trying Crocs, I moved on to Birkenstocks(following the hype again!)

They are very odd to wear at first, but once your feet get used to them, they're quite comfy!

An added bonus for me-they've toned up my calves & thighs a treat!

    Some Birkenstock styles do have a back so have a look around. Best place for choice is probably;

If you want to try out some but don't want to spend much, either buy from QVC so you have 30 days to return them if you don't get on with them or go to TK Maxx where they have many styles for £19.99.

I now have 6 pairs (including a pair of boots!) Still always on the look out for more!

    HTH:D

Just to add, you may find that the styles with two straps or more are far easier to keep on your feet than the one strap styles-they stay with your foot when you walk & have more adjustability for comfort.

I though they were ugly too...and then I bought a pair. Funny how the ugliest shoes in the world turn in to beautiful, dainty glass slippers when they're so comfy!:D
