Hi all,
I was discharged from bankruptcy back in july 2008 and was wondering what my chances were of getting through security/credit checks that banks and other financial services employers do on new starters?
I never had any CCJs, i declared myself BR, dont know if that makes a difference. I would be working as an IT contractor (project manager type roles). Im worried that a whole industry sector might be closed off to me. I know my overall credit rating is now good as in the last 6 months have taken out credit cards and a phone contract, its just bugging me that the very fact i was once BR might remain as permanent black mark holding me back.
Any advice welcomed, thanks

No not at all does BR have to be a black mark this is quite out of date unless your name is on a public register - the tip is you tell them, always be up front and you'll have nothing to fear, that has been my experience since my name no longer appears on the register
I was the same no CCJ's (I understood CCJ's were as bad as insolvent) perhaps that helps ease it
But
I begrudged paying for the likes of the DBS checks and to be honest I felt uncomfortable personally but I think that is because I'd rather be on the naughty side! anyday
The only institution I thought had turned me down for having a DRO 'it felt' recently re-approached me so I'd say there is hope for anyone x0
