Life after DMP, not as easy as i thought....

Hi All

I started my CCCS DMP back in 2006/7 after running up 30k+ in debt I couldn't afford. I managed to pay it all back finishing last year and was one of my most proud moments.

However now i'm completely debt free, have built up a little savings for a deposit on a house and have worked my way up the ladder at work to be on a good salary but i'm still being haunted by some of the entries on my credit file and was wondering if this is normal practice or am i being disadvantaged?

1st up, Creation bloody finance have hit my file with over 3 years of 6 late payment markers, which i beleive is against ICO guidelines and they should have defaulted me in 2006, in which case the file would have dropped off in 2012. Instead as the account was settled in 2011 it will remain on my file for all lenders to see until 2017, A whole 11 years after i ran into dificulties.

2ndly i had a credit card with barclaycard and the debt was passed to Arrow global, the original credit file entry dropped off in 2012 however as i settled the account with Arrow in 2013 they have raised a new entry stating settled but have also added a note saying 'DEBT MANAGEMENT PLAN' on the entry, again will be loitering until 2019. Are they allowed to place another entry for an account that had already dropped off?

Is this normal to be happening? I am in the process of complaining to Creation but i feel as though I'm banging my head against a brick wall.

Sorry for the rant and waffle but i'm just gutted at present as this year was going to be the year I finally managed to buy my own place after all the years paying off the mistakes of my youth.

Steve
