Barclaycard

I know what I have told Barclaycard is correct but they say different....

Bankrupt 16/10/2012
Discharged 16/10/2013

Now Barclaycard have me defaulted on the 29/11/2012 which is wrong but they say they cant change this date as they sold the debt on

Now the company they sold the debt on have all the dates correct. Now I told Barclaycard they HAVE to default me either on 16/10/2012 or before not after as they sold the debt before I went bankrupt but they are now telling me to make contact with the company who they sold the debt to and its up to tem to sort out.

Now I've been doing the clean on my file since Jan and Barclaycard are the only people who refuse to do this.

Next course of action should be.....?

  • For the sake of only 6 weeks I would not get yourself stressed over it, yes they are wrong and it should be the date you went br but if I was you I would not worry if they refuse to change it.

What is 6 weeks extra when you will of waited 6 years for it all to drop off

They've done the sane to me. Also they have not marked account as settled as of my discharge date.

    How did you contact them?

I've been trying to clean my credit file post bankruptcy and sent them letter recorded delivery and had no response that was 6 months ago.

Tried calling them to no avail, would appreciate if you could post how you managed to contact them

I contacted them through credit expert but they gave so far refused to change the details. Was thinking about calling them as when I had a problem before they were actually quite helpful. My card was originally an egg card and when it was taken over by them they didn't install the direct debit and I hadn't noticed until they called me demanding payment!! They had marked my file as a late payment & charged me. They did change this as was their fault & not mine. I'll post back when I call & let you know how I get on.

Hi, I'm still waiting to be discharged so I haven't dealt with the nightmare of credit file clean up yet  but I read a thread on here before were someone just went straight to the top and emailed the CEO of each company when CS refused to help. I did try to put in a link to different companies ceo's email addresses but it got blanked out, google CEO Mail if you want to give it a go, it's got to be worth a try!

If the entry is still in their name, then it is only Barclays that can correct that one. Complain saying you need a final response from them to take to the ICO and FOS.
