    I've been Money Tipped!
    I did all this today......

Dismantled the broken wardrobe in the kids room.
    Cleared it out
Painted it (with 15% off paint from Homebase, borrowed equipment and poundshop masking tap!!! - total cost £13.59)
Put all the stuff back in

    2 loads of washing

Trip to shopping centre to buy a birthday present for dd's friend - he loves dinosaurs and found a great book for £2.49 on sale in The Works and a 99p calender for myself and used my loyalty card.
Also bought 2 items in Poundland.
    Free parking used.

    Food Shopping in Lidl.

Washed window in kids' room and scrubbed the surround with bleach as it had some mould spots. Also washed the net curtain.

Treated myself to a £3.49 takeaway and watched The Voice!

    Checked bank balances

    I'm exhaused.

  • Imbroglio - I am glad you are no longer a lurker  I was one too for a long time....

Today is my e-bay day. Sales £182.50!!! It is quite time consuming and I am very aware that we will run out of things to sell at some point - though not quite yet. I am having a break from listing (and it's a no fee weekend - typical!) this weekend though, as we are off to visit family and go to a wedding next weekend. I may list some more items on Thursday to sell the following week when I am not at work :)

OH has been busy making home made pizza bases and tomato sauce. The bases seem to be turning out OK (still in the making) but not the sauce (he's actually also made a pan of pasta sauce using the stuff that was supposed to be discarded!). They love pizza. If the home made ones are a success maybe we could fold them and make "calzone" for lunchboxes.

Need to pack up all my eBay stuff now. Then I am going to sit and knit!

    Hello Money savers,
    Today's positive small things:
*mr f managed to do some maintenance work on our conservatory roof himself, which has hopefully saved us a bill.
*Re-potted our Christmas tree. Can we keep it going for a 4th Christmas? It's looking healthy. Found a big old pot from my stash in the shed & used our home made compost.
*Washed pet bedding, bagged & stashed in the loft for when we feel ready to adopt another homeless puss.
*Covered little tomato seedlings, etc, with fleece as it looks to be a chilly evening (actually it isn't proper horticultural fleece, it's an old IKEA muslin curtain & does just the same job for free)
*Re-listed ebay items for the last time, before dispatching to charity shop (free listings).
*mr f has decided to sell a DVD recorder & is investigating Facebook local group for this, rather than charging mega postage on ebay.
*Found pretty unused photo album to which I will add some family photos to make a nice gift for an elderly relative. Think we already have some photos I can use so this should be a low-spend addition to the present box.
*Meals as per meal plans - roast pork slices in gravy which I froze last time I did 'rubber pork'.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch & work snacks.
    *Did some surveys.
*Paid knitting money earned this week into bathroom fund.
*Free wine with dinner tonight - gift from friend :-)
*Still doing 'Use it up'......really wanted to light a lovely scented candle I got for Christmas but am determined to use up my drawer of odds & sods of stuff first, so as not to be wasteful, so am working my way through a box of leftover joss sticks instead. Am still scraping foundation out of bottle with a coffee stirrer stick. There was LOADS in there which would have previously been chucked out. Also using up a gel eyeliner & a weird lip gloss as have been bad in the past with just using a bit & chucking it in a drawer then buying new. Am reformed character these days!
*Finish knitting sock for present box.
*Rummaged through yarn stash & found some great multi-colour sock yarn which I've decided to use to knit some more socks for a friend's birthday next month. She likes funky socks & can't knit so think this will be a good present.
*Read The Observer online instead of buying one.
*Got library book to finish, so free leisure.
*Put laundry on timer for overnight wash on Economy 7.
*Read gas & electricity meters & updated energy-use spreadsheets.
*Share a bubbly bath later. (Bagsy me going in first!)
I'm quite pleased with this list, as I'd intended to have a very leisurely day, but have ended up being quite money-saving.
Hope everyone out having a good day.
Princess_pea - Try the library for some slow cooker books. I've had some really good ones & copied out several recipes to try. Love my Crock-pot slow cooker!
