Hello boys and girls...
I sent thirteen full and final settlement offer letters out on the 3rd of March, so far I've had five agreed (of which I've paid three and am waiting on confirmations from two) and am in negotiation with three others.
One of the two I'm waiting for confirmations of terms from is Wonga. They emailed rejecting my original offer, so I wrote back with an increase and they emailed again accepting it. I've sent another letter and emailed them twice to ask for confirmation that no-one else will chase for the remainder and that my credit files will be updated to mark the debt as settled, and I've heard nothing back.
They were quick enough when we were negotiating figures, but I can't see why they'd stall on a confirmation, as I've stated quite clearly in all communication that they aren't getting a penny until they agree to the terms of my offer.
I don't want to call them and get into discussion over the phone, but want to get the debt cleared at the settled amount so not really sure what to do next.
But apart from that, there's been absolutely no response about the remaining five, which are...
It's odd because before I sent the letters to CRS I was forever getting txts from them offering a discount on settling the two accounts. Now since I've written about settlements they've gone quiet.
None of these are huge debts, the most is on one of the CRS at just under £700. Of the other four two are under £100 and one under £60, and the settlement offers I made on those was only knocking off a few quid, a tenner at most.
When I get paid again at the end of this month I'll probably just clear the three below-£100 debts after reading a bit more on here about how settled accounts will show on my credit reports.
But I can't afford to clear the other two, even with help from my in-laws, without a reduced settlement.
But again, I don't want to get drawn into phone conversations with them either.
Any advice on how to approach the ones who aren't replying?

When you wrote your letters did you specify if they had X amount of days to reply to your offer?Been there, done that and Ebay'd the t shirt. :beer:0

Certainly did.
Perhaps I was too generous with 28 days?
Although, eight replied well within that, it's just these four companies I haven't heard from.0 -
As long as no more charges are being added, I would just wait til they send you a pay or else letter or sell the debts. Then write stating your offer which you made previously which was ignored.
Put the money to one side.
