6 years ago today I was already at the Royal Courts of Justice, wanting to be first in the queue to declare my bankruptcy. It took all day but I still remember the relief when I left the court. I really had a spring in my step and couldn't wait for my first post BR creditor call. It was, no surprises, Barclays! They hounded me for months starting at 8:30 every morning and 8:59 every evening like clockwork. What a pleasure it was to start answering the phone again.
I can honestly say I haven't been hindered by my BR, the only thing I can think of is that I got a job at the Bank of England last summer but failed the security check but it was only a maternity cover job anyway.
I was able to keep my house, thankfully the credit crunch hit at the same time which meant I had little equity at the time and bought that back for about £500. House price has now gone up tremendously and I am so thankful for that!
I want to thank everyone on this board for all the help and advice I received. It is nice to see that many of you are still on here helping people.
For all of you lurking in the background wondering if BR is for you or feeling is despair because of your circumstances all I can say is it DOES get better, really!
So today I will celebrate in my own quiet way and send off for my credit report. I still have a CCJ and one default that I couldn't clean up however they will drop off soon so not too worried about that.

Congratulations, it's lovely to read that BR isn't all doom and gloom and most people come out of it feeling it was the right thing to do.
Enjoy putting it all behind you .0 -
