all these people wanting to spend big on getting married.

Do it on the cheap and spend what you save on the house

or even cheaper in the long run - enjoy single life

What I've seen some people spend on a wedding, I'd rather travel the world for a year... or buy a car. Sod wasting it on 1 day.

As for me, it would go on debt/towards the mortgage/fix my heating. Sadly, living in London it wouldn't be enough for me to even be able to move from a flat into a house.

We are not spending big at all, doing everything as cheap as we can. Would just be nice not to have to worry about saving every penny :p

HOLIDAY (desperate). Nothing too fancy/expensive, just a nice Med break.

    Clear (nearly) half the mortgage.

    £10k on a car.

Go part time (4 days a week!). YIPPEE!

Would take friends/family out for dinner/somewhere nice, probably give a thousand or so to each of my sis' kids, but it's not like they go without anyway. Mum wouldn't take a penny, but I'd buy her something nice. Jewellery probably.

    SORTED :D

Keep about £25k to help with money while i retrain in completely different much lower paid career.

Pay about About £20k off the mortgage. (Or whatever amount would work out at taking under 60% LTV)

    That would leave about £10k

£3 - 4k buying furniture, getting the house painted etc.

£1k buying stuff for my parents - a nice hotel break maybe or new TV or something they want.

£2k on a nice holiday for us

    remainder towards upgrading the car
Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.
