it would perhaps be better if people were more precise about what they disliked
e.g.
-people (whether UK or foreigners or companies) buying property to keep empty (either capital appreciation or simply money laundering etc)
-similar but buying for occasional use (second homes)
-similar but for letting purposes
etc
All of the above, but the first most of all.0 -

Why do you keep harping on about foreigners then?0 -

why do you hate people who rent so much?0 -
did we ever establish the actual number of foreign buyers in London?
do we know how many of the foreign owned properties are left empty?
do we know how many new builds in London are directly funded from abroad? But the number of foreign buyers in Clapham, Battersea etc is forcing the better off UK workers to buy in some of the areas you mention, thereby pushing up prices.0 -
I believe non citizens or residents are precluded from buying urban property in Australia in most cases.
Then again the Aussies do have a reputation for looking after their own.
Had a quick look and it seems like the Australian system is more focused on residence than citizenship?
So we agree that the issue is absent investors and that whether they are foreigner or not is - although a huge issue for you - actually quite irrelevant?Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
I don't but this thread started quoting a BBC radio report about foreign investors. You seem to read racism into just about anything anyone says. Do you have sort sort of issues we should know about?
This thread started with you saying it's 'getting out of hand'
What is getting out of hand? The absent landlords in London? Or just the foreign ones?Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0
