Starting debt free journey - need advise

HI all

I am starting my debt free journey. At the minute i have £20k in unsecured debts and a house which has been voluntarily repossessed with negative equity of approx £70,000. I am trying to arrange a Debt Management plan and have been in contact originally with Payplan and then have tried to organise with creditors directly. Question is - is it better to use payplan (not all have agreed yet as early stages)? Payplan are to ring back tomorrow to go through everything and then start ringing creditors. Am I better to let them do it or do it myself? Totally confused. Will Payplan be able to convert a DMP to an IVA in time as we tried an IVA but our majority creditor rejected it at the minute.
