Elfy1807's Goals for 2014

Hi.

I've just discovered this thread
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4854242

and decided to join in.

My goals for 2014 (starting April 1st 2014) are as follows...

01. Start and finish 4 already owned books
02. Don't buy any more books
03. Watch at least 7 fims on my previously written "Films I want to watch" list
04. Start paying off debt to mum (owe £3080 - would like to get that down to at least £2500 by end of year)
05. Start saving for a house deposit of £5000 (goal of a minimum of £1500 by end of 2014)
06. Declutter
07. Weigh 9st (currently around 10st7)
08. Go to WW meeting every Thursday unless physically impossible due to work/being away (even if I know I'm going to be over my 5lb goal buffer - suck it up and pay the fee - should teach me to be good)
09. Attend at least one gym class every week (unless physically impossible to work/being away)
10. Take part in the £10 per day challenge
11. Save £500 so I can pay January 2015 car insurance in a lump sum
12. Save £300 for presents for Christmas 2014
13. Stick with my £10 weekly pleasure allowance
14. Increase board from £20 p/w to £25 p/w
15. Wash up for mum at least once p/w
16. Catch up with Game of Thrones with OH
17. Walk at least 10,000 steps per day
18. Finish my WDW '11 album (fill in all pages)
19. Stop buying notebooks

I've started a new thread with these on so I don't spam that board as I'm planning on updating daily.
So I'll update here with progress daily, and update on the thread weekly.

I hope you'll read and encourage me as I find forums help me a lot with my goals.
I've tried blogging but I don't really tend to keep up with the posts.

Thanks to anyone reading this.

    Hi mobo.
    Thanks for popping in.

Yeah... my obsession with notebooks is exactly that - I love writing lists.
The reason I've got so many unused ones lying about is because I have a weird OCD with how I write in notebooks.
If it's not perfect then I get frustrated. Even the 50p Tesco notebooks I have an issue writing in haha.
It's also the reason my WDW album isn't finished.

Good luck with your own goals - losing those final 21lbs to get to 9st is hard isn't it?? Haha

I've climbed Mount Snowdon and Scafell Pike in the last year and I honestly think they were both easier than losing this final bit of weight lol.

I used to have a gym membership when I was on my initial get fit kick. I thought I wouldn't take to it, but I loved it.
I was in the gym 4 mornings a week and doing 5-6 classes a week. And then they changed all the classes to times when I couldn't go due to work commitments and made the decision to quit my membership as it was £40 a month I couldn't afford if I wasn't using it.

But I needed something to kickstart my attempts again, so have been attending one class a week at a cost of £5.80 which I take out of my £10 weekly pleasure allowance. I prefer to go to zumba on a tuesday night, but I worked late instead so I'm going to a different zumba class tonight.
I've often thought about dvds, but they're not for me. I've bought wii fit, I've bought just dance, I've looked at routines on youtube but I just feel silly.
I can't commit to it regularly because I don't like doing it in front of my family, so have to schedule it for when noone's around. Which isn't very often. There's always someone about, or I'm at work when there's a free house.

List wise - I write everything. To do lists for the day, to do lists for the week, bucket lists, revised bucket lists for what I think is actually achievable, budgeting lists - I write down what I'm going to put my wages towards, weight goals. I have a list of films to watch (as mentioned in my goals list up there).
I'm the organiser in my friendship group/my relationship, so when we go away I have lists of local petrol stations, supermarkets, parking (with their prices and where they are in reference to what we're visiting there such as shops and town centres), local pubs and eating establishments, everything.
And there we go... I just made a list of lists. Oh dear :o

    01. Start and finish 4 already owned books Yes. Started. Not last night as got caught up watching HIMYM. Started reading The Wedding Diaries by Sam Binnie. Best friend bought me it (and the sequel) for Christmas 2013. I started reading it at the beginning of the year but life got in the way and put it down. But I've restarted. Currently on page 80 of 292
    02. Don't buy any more books Nope.
    03. Watch at least 7 fims on my previously written "Films I want to watch" list Looking into which ones I fancy first
    04. Start paying off debt to mum (owe £3080 - would like to get that down to at least £2500 by end of year)

    07. Weigh 9st (currently around 10st7) Got weighed today. Currently 10st5. Bit better than I expected. I've not been brilliant with food today :o but I'll be back on it tomorrow. Promise.
    08. Go to WW meeting every Thursday unless physically impossible due to work/being away (even if I know I'm going to be over my 5lb goal buffer - suck it up and pay the fee - should teach me to be good) Yep. I went. And I was dead on my 5lb buffer so didn't have to pay. Only half a pound put on in 3 weeks so not bad. Need to stick with it this week so I go down, not up and end up paying. Tomorrow. I promise.
    09. Attend at least one gym class every week (unless physically impossible to work/being away) Yep yep yep. Proper sweat on at Zumba tonight. Felt good
    10. Take part in the £10 per day challenge Nothing new today. My grandma did give me £10, but it was for a haircut I had this morning. So I'm technically no better off than I was this morning, but I'm not worse off either
    11. Save £500 so I can pay January 2015 car insurance in a lump sum
    12. Save £300 for presents for Christmas 2014

    15. Wash up for mum at least once p/w
    16. Catch up with Game of Thrones with OH
    17. Walk at least 10,000 steps per day Yep. I can't recall the exact amount, but it was only just over 10000. Went out for a 3 mile walk this afternoon to make sure I hit it.
    18. Finish my WDW '11 album (fill in all pages)
    19. Stop buying notebooks None today =)
