Returning Next Sale item

Options
Not sure if this is the right board to be posting on but if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

I bought a (Medium) man's Jacket in store on the opening day of the Next Sale. Thought it might be a tad small and managed to order the Large size online.

Thought I had 28 days to return but just looked at receipt and it has to be returned by Saturday. Large one isn't due for 2 wks. Would just be my luck to take the medium back and the large be too big.

Does anyone who works at Next know if I can return the Medium Jacket and buy straight back again? (It is the same price at the moment) to give me more time until the other one arrives?

Went into store to explain and ask if I could buy back the Jacket I was returning and they said no. Can't see what the problem is - I would be paying the same price.

maybe the problem is more of a procedural one , when goods are returned to my workplace they aren't immediately put back into stock , they have to wait until someone is free to add them back into stock via the handheld scanner. That could be 5 mins later or if we are busy just before closing.

I would doubt that to be honest. Next would have warehouse staff assigned to that sort of thing.

Could you not explain the situation and ask them to extend the return for 2 weeks? Is the Medium for you? If so then try it on, if not, then go by his other coats to get an idea of size.

Sale returns aren't kept in store, but sent back after their sale is finished and so that's why it wouldn't be available to buy.

I would call their head office and ask them. They're always very helpful.

    Hi,

I work for Next and the 15 day sale return policy was brought in last year due to some serious abuses of the 28 day returns policy. The policy is enforced by all stores and the till refuses to return it without a manager authorisation.

Your best bet is to say your going to call head office and complain (stores hate complaints). Be polite but just say your disappointed and will complain(ask for the phone number).

Don't start shouting and screaming as staff will just ignore you and when the complaint comes in the staff will inform head office of your actions and they will side with the store. We had this recently and the person is no longer welcome in store
