You do not have to worry about getting sanctioned for refusing access to your personal ujm account.

They have to obey the law and you are 100% in your rights to refuse.
Make sure you have unticked the consent box and the other box consenting to emails.

You are within your rights to present your work search in any format you want. Even if its written down on a piece of used bog paper.

They know all this so just stand up for yourself and dont let them bully you.

I have sent some links to prove what i am saying. These are law and you can find everything regarding UJM in their own toolkit.
The DWP have to obey the law as well as any one else.

Thank you for this. I am going to stand my ground don't worry. I just didn't want to get caught out by some rule that has been overlooked. My lawyers want me to push this through the complaints procedure and to try and escalate it to, I believe its the director of operations (don't quote me on that) in an attempt to bring attention to what this office is doing. That the staff in the jc that's dealing with me must be held to account for this. They believe its the only way to properly bring an end to the treatment I'm receiving. I'll post back later how I get on during signing.

I suggest you secretly record your conversation with the job centre plus advisor. Don't tell them you're recording or their attitude changes and may even refuse you entry to sign on.

Right. I'm getting some ware. First off they didn't try and sanction me for revoking access however they tried to push for sanction on the grounds that I didn't provide print offs of every job I applied for??? Well I went nuts. I finally snapped. I started directly accusing them of deliberately orchestrating a sanction and singling me out. Of abusing the rules and breaking the law. I ended up in a private office with the manager. He was a totally different person. He fully agreed with everything I said and at least acted shocked at the directions etc his staff were hitting me with. He has told me to revert to my usual method of doing things. He asked me to grant access back for next fortnight. He wants to see himself exactly what I've been doing. He states that my old routine should be more than efficient. That he will sign me personally next fortnight and as long as he can see for himself that I'm def complying with my jobseeker agreement, that he promises he will lock it down at that and I will never have a problem with them again. From then on I can restrict access or present my job search history in any form I chose and see fit. Only condition he asked is that any job I apply for, provide the job reference number or the url to the jobs page. That's it. Tbh that's gona be a big improvement and I'd settle for that.

Also if they ever say they will mandate you for something , ask them to put it in writing, as a mandation has to be put to you in a printed form with the date and who and what the mandation is for.

This can then be used as evidence against the misinformed job centre staff.

I think hre is playing games with you, to be quite honest.

Doesn;t sound as if he is unaware of what the staff are doing at all.
If he was , and he was genuine, he wouldn;t have asked you to provide them with access for 2 weeks.

There is no onus on you to provide access to him or anyone at the JC. Te rules state that, so he is going against those rules by what he has said to you - he should be accepting the evidence however you see fit to provide it,

He is worried that you have got proof that you don;t have to provide them with access and that the JC can't sanction you for that. He is worried you will go to the press about this.

It sounds as if you have a bit of a power tripping personal adviser Joseph. There's a whole spectrum of staff in the JCP some are dragons and some show common sense. I think the manager sounds genuine as what the adviser has been demanding from you is not what's required.

The burden of proof is on the claimant to prove jobs searching by any means, usually by a list with dates and reference numbers, either on UJ or written or email. You can request a change of adviser and put in a written complaint.

I'm needing advice on how to fight back against my local jc. no one else in this jc is pushed as hard as me. I have verified this with 8 other clients - unfair treatment and discrimination.
    I'm long unemployed.
At one point I had a court hearing and they refused to allow me an excused or early signing as I had no letter with the details on it.They believe I'm being set up for sanction. They told me that...
The jcp advisor cant issue a jobseeker direction forcing me to grant access to my ujm as this is against data protection laws and that they can't sanction me for revoking access due to this. That ujm sign up is NOT compulsory for everyone.
BIG BOOTS LOOSES HEELS - how did it go?
