Does anyone know the best way to shame a company who have lied and completely pushed my complaint under the carpet? I am unable to go to the ombudsman as I have a buy to let mortgage. I would like to know who would be interested in my story?
Thanks Danielle

probably not many, you could write an online review, or blog, but given the name you have quoted, I expect there are 1000s already....

You could give us your version of events and your opinions.

You can still make a complaint - but it would have to go via courtsif you were not happy with the outcome. You might also be able to claim via the OFT?

Tell us a bit more here.
    IANAL etc.
  • To cut a long story short, I had a nightmare with Countrywide...

Ranging from money taken out of my account for unaccounted fees, signing me up to life insurance, home insurance etc and a whole pack of lies.

I kept up the complaints but then I was able to use the Financial Ombudsman. Within one week of lodging my complain to the Ombudsman, I received a cheque for all of my money back and a little extra. It did state in the letter that if I cashed the cheque then the case would be closed and they were not admitting being at fault.

Obviously slightly different to yours as you can't use the Financial Ombudsman (even though I'm not sure why, there must be a reason I presume?) but I would have gone all the way to small claims court if I had to on principle.

Countrywide is an absolute joke and wished I had done my research before speaking to them. More bad press can only help others!
