Quote: "peanuts compared to the house prices here".
Er, how about moving to an area where £160k would be more like Brazil nuts..? Everyone seems to think they have a god-given right to a home in the area of their choice.
Speaking as a Cotswolds resident, I've got news for you...
Oh and by the way, I'm sick of reading how people on a joint income of £50k+ just can't possibly find any kind of deposit. What kind of impression does it give to a potential lender that people on that sort of income are apparently so f eckless with their budgeting/lifestyle that they have no saving discipline whatsoever..?0 -
This is a very old thread and I'm guessing the OP's situation has moved on since then

I find it shocking that the advise on here is yes you will be able to get a mortgage - 100% on 4x joint income - yikes!
I seriously hope these people didn't find a house or mortgage - they'll be suffering now if they did. They won't be able to sell because they'll be in neg-equity and their mortgage rates will be sky high once they are off any fixed period.
This thread is a testament to the madness of the housing market in previous years.0
