Bankruptcy advice

Hello, I am new to the forum and would like some advice. I was declared bankrupt today at my local county court. However, I left without any paperwork and was told by the judge that it would be posted to me. She told me that if any of my creditors rang me, just tell them the date and time that I was declared bankrupt. Is this how it is normally done? Another thing is that I was told the official receiver would interview me over the phone. What is the time scale from being declared bankrupt to the official receivers phone call? I was declared bankrupt eight years ago but it was a completely different process, so that's why I am a bit unsure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got paper work from my local court the day after, they sent me multiple copies of my bankruptcy to provide my creditors with if they hassled me.

According to what my court said, if you were made bankrupt before 12 noon the call will be in the afternoon and if after 12 noon you'll get a call the following day before noon.

    Hope that helps!

I went BR at 1100 and left with my paperwork. Got a letter from the OR office 5 days later advising of my appointment for the telephone interview which was 2 weeks after my BR.

Think it varies quite a lot between courts and local OR offices. If any of your creditors ring just tell them the court and date you were declared BR and they can check it our on the insolvency register from that.

When I was made bankrupt I simply followed the advice you have . I wrote to everyone explaining my Bankruptcy situation quoting the date and location ( court). I never heard from anyone again, the pain stopped. The phone interview came within a few days and lasted a while although a few days later my mobile contract was terminated when the OR contacted my supplier, this caused a few problems. That is all behind me and I moved from a very dark place to a new chance. I hope you have the same experience.
