They have just put ap on my credit record.6 years down the line and it still says the same. Although cos we only have 3 years left on our dmp I am now reluctant to push for a default cos I want my credit history clear at the end. I will argue AP markers I understand they shouldn't mark these on your file after 6months, and if they mark it every month they won't drop off for a very long time off your files!0

Did your other creditors enter defaults a long time previous?
The issue is your credit history won't be clear at the end. The AP markers will be visible for 9more years (or 6 years from when you pay off the debt).
If arguing for a default then you would want to argue for it to be backdated to within 6months of when you first when on the DMP or first missed payments.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
As Tixy says, argue that they should have placed a default back when the rest did. I did this successfully and they removed all AP markers, added a default date of 2010 and sent me a cheque for £100 by way of an apology!
If you want a copy of the letter I sent, please PM me. It will, of course need editing a little but it worked for me.0 -
Tixy and Stewart thanks for this information. I really didn't realise how long an AP would stay on for. Stewart I have pm'd you hope you don't mind.
We started our dmp august 2008 and everyone else defaulted us within 6 months. I naively thought once we paid off our dmp the AP would vanish.

I've sent you the letter. Good luck with it. If you can get them to add a default when they should have, that account will vanish from your file 6 years after that date. So I guess some time in 2015 it should all disappear.0

L2B let us know how you get on with this0

Really useful bit of information, I am fortunate that I complete my DMP on April 30th (well thats the date of my final payment to Stepchange anyway, creditors get it on the 16th....) however had not fully recognised that Barclaycard have been marking me as AR rather that defaulting me, had seen but didnt understand the consequences !!! so will drop you a DM for a copy of your letter as well please, as a default would expire in December 2014.... whilst the AR's will hold for another 6 years !!!0
