    I also don't meal plan (yes, I'm a bad, bad person) I typically spend £15 on food per week, it could be lower, but I'm pretty happy with it.

    Meat costs a pretty penny, so having a couple of vegetarian meals cuts costs nicely.
    Mince can be stretched with grated carrot. I only buy the ?% extra free Ragu bolognese for a pound and buy 3 jars at a time.
    Sliced ham is more expensive than cheese or jam.....
    Also a fair bit of money might be going on crisps, chocolate or soft drinks.
    Buy big sacks of potatoes and store them right and they'll last a few months.
