Hi
Is the lowermybills thing on experian any good ? What I mean is, if it comes up with a list if mortgages available to me can I rely on it or is it as worthless as the credit score ?
Thanks in advance x

I'm not sure , when I was on experian there is a link that u put basic details in and it apparently checks available deals against your experian credit file .

Yes , nationwide , halifax etc . I just checked the web address in it and it something like creditexpert.lowermybills.co.uk . It says u can check for deals to match your rating for cc, loans, mortgages etc

Hi FTBer,

Lower My Bills has recently been renamed as CreditMatcher, by using the site you can potentially cut the number of applications that you need to make, as the site will recommend suitable products to you.

However, these are only recommendations and using the site does not guarantee you will be accepted.

Thanks for that Neil ,Quick question ... I have just been on to experian to update balances on 2 accounts ,one that has been closed and one that has had a large payment paid off it . The rep said they have the info but cant update as they are running 11 days behind !
I explained that I will be applying for a morgage on saturday so need it done asap .
He confirmed that they have had the updated info for over 2 weeks but if I want it done I need to get a referance number from both lenders ...surely this is what I have been paying 15 quid a month for for over year !
Thanks

Hi FTBer,

When we get a monthly update they are checked for quality purposes, which can take a few days. I think this may be what the rep you spoke to was referring to.

If you email the details to me here, I will take a look at these accounts for you and see what's delaying the update.

Regards
