Yes, they are agents BUT their primary concern is profit. He who pays the piper...
Actually it is far from clear why the company does not wish to continue with his placement. You only have one side of the story.
Don't rely on what the supervisor said - he was hardly going to say that he agreed with the decision was he? Most people don't like confrontation or giving bad feedback that is human nature.
You need to encourage your nephew to accept that agency work can be unpredictable and support him in finding another placement rather than getting him wound up about something that isn't going to get him any further forward in the job market.
Oh come on... despicable? On what facts are you basing this opinion?
Name and shame? Yeah, I bet MSE will love that.
When you register with an agency, you unfortunately have to take any old c**p they throw at you or they will see you as unreliable and bin you for life.
It appears to me as if the OP was laid off because they confronted the agency over their salary balls up and they didn't like it. When you work for an agency they only like yes men who have to appear to be up their sphincters and kowtow to them at all times.
As for name and shame, what's wrong with that?. This forum is all about warning people about unscrupulous organisations and why should recruitment Agencies be above the law because boy, there are some very bad ones out there.0 -

No one knows the real reason for the OP's nephew to be laid of. The OP is using third party information (nephew) and assumption of the facts. They may well be a completely legitimate reason between the agency and company for the contract to come to an end.0 -

One thing's for certain, He won't get the truth from the lying recruitment agents, who make the morals & ethics of estate agents look like saints in comparison0 -
Does he have a bit of an attitude, when he thinks he's being conned ? That would be enough. You have to keep these people sweet and on your side. To resolve a pay issue like that requires diplomacy. If you come over all 'angry', they'll just find someone who doesn't complain.0

Correct me if I'm wrong, at least here in Scotland, if your on a temp contract for more than 3 months, they have to take you on full time? Reason I ask/say this is because I worked for an agency/factory here that used to hire you for 3 months, sack you for a day then re-hire you just to circumvent this...0
