Glad it helped. I'm vegetarian so can cope with mince I think what I could do with quorn mince but struggle with ideas for 'proper' meat as well as how much required. Glad you found some pennies. I remember many a time checking down the back of the sofa!

Do you have any nectar or clubcard points you could use up? If you have a clubcard log in online and double check there's no old vouchers that have been missed.

You might also qualify for a referral to a food bank, which is worth checking.

Peanut Butter on toast will be a filling breakfast.
You can make (scotch) pancakes if you have flour: 120g SR flour, 100ml milk, 30g sugar, 1 egg.

  • Pancakes there is no need for milk and eggs. Honestly you won't know the difference just don't put in the sugar if you want to make savoury ones

    Recipe here http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/9076/vegan-pancakes.aspx
I have this mix in my fridge right now

    Def buy flour
Powdered milk is a cheapo option
    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/sainsburys-price-comparison/shelf_milk/sainsburys_basics_skimmed_milk_powder_400g.html

    It's really not that bad.
Also if you can afford it a sainsburys basics veg bag is £1 and you can get v cheap frozen veg which will bulk the meat out and make your meals more healthy

You could so a chickpea curry
Or make humous with it using the peanut butter instead of tahini paste

Make a simple satay sauce using the peanut butter too

Also try pennyskitchen.net.She also has meal plans and good cheap recipes, and if you subscribe (free) you can get a frugal meal a day sent to your email box.Gives you ideas when you're stuck for what to have. Was recommended by frugalqueen.( I believe Jack Munro also uses the Lesley web site) Hope that helps.I've found both very useful,as well as frugalqueen and agirlcalledjack.

Iceland do two x 4 pints milk for £1.80 if you have the room you could freeze some for next week or the week after

    Morrison's do 4 pints milk for 84p.So 2x4 pints even cheaper--£1.68.
