I will be debt free by 23rd August (payday) and so will need to watch my spending to achieve this as I have 3.6k to clear over the 5 pay days.
It's very doable with a fair wind behind me and the determination to stick to my goal.
I will use this thread as my diary to keep me focused and on track.
Thank you!

I've been busy today reseeding the mud bath that used to be my back lawn. My dog has churned it up this winter by doing mad circles and skids. The old me would have paid to have it returfed but I googled how to do it and it's cost me £30 for seed etc and a couple of hours of my time.
We'll see how it turns out!0 -
Ok so I've trawled through the cupboards and the fridge/freezer and I'm happy to say that I shouldn't have to spend much on my food budget in April.
I'm going away for Easter for a quiet few days and will be self catering whilst enjoying some much needed peace and quiet away from everything. Just me, my dog and my e-reader. Bliss 😄0 -
Day off today so I'll be catching up with chores (I hate housework!)
Have a good day all0 -
Good DFW day today! First I decided to get the bus to town and was let off my fare as the ticket machine was broken. Then a cheque for expenses arrived that I'd forgotten about. £62 better off! Way hay :-))0

Back to work today and feeling stressed already. I haven't slept well at all. Work is really getting me down just now. There are lots of changes with staff going and those left behind picking up more and more. It isn't a job that you can forget at 5pm either. I'm grateful that I'm in a job and that it pays well but I'm absolutely worn out.
After 2 divorces I'm left with a mortgage that won't be cleared until 2 years after I retire. I would have the option to reduce to 3 days a week but I'm thinking I should stay full time as long as possible to overpay the mortgage. I have 10 years 5 months left on the mortgage.
I really would cope better on 3 days but what if I lose my job in the cuts and can't get another at my age? :-(0 -
Wow good luck....
I cant wait until im in that place - hopefully in 3 years0
