    Hi

I've uploaded my first photo on this site tonight (woo hoo), posted my evening meal on 'What are you making for Dinner' thread.

    My plan for OH and I for the week is;

Mon - Sausage Casserole in a large Yorkshire Pudding
Tues - Marinated Chicken Breast, Jacket Potato & Salad
Weds - Minted Lamb Stew, Roast Potatoes & Green Beans
    Thurs - Prawn Cocktail
Fri - Butchers Beef Burger in a Roll & HM Chips
Sat - Chicken Stir Fry & Noodles
Sun - Roast Chicken Dinner & Trimmings

ALD1 version of Special K with red berries and chopped bananas for breakfast (bacon sandwich for brunch Saturday as we are off), lunches will be egg on toast, ham/tuna sandwiches or a bit of salad with any leftovers. Snacks will be fruit, fat free yogurt, handful of nuts or low fat crisps.

Also wanting to jump in! After spending a whole £20 on groceries last week (i live in a houseshare but sort out my own meals), I currently have two tubs of tagliatelle and one tub of pasta and tapendade, with turkey in the freezer. Also intended to make red lentil, chickpea and chilli soup (to use up those lurking pulses in the cupboard!) but didnt happen until yesterday so now also have three portions of that!

So with that in mind, I spendt £9.50 this week on groceries :) The only meal I am really making is (as I enjoyed it so much last week) is pasta and black olive tapenade with turkey, chilli and garlic, all thanks to BBC Good Food recipes so I will get four portions of that.

So I will mix and match all those lovely meals and either take them to work or heat them up in the evening this week. As a slightly healthier alternative to crisps, I bought wholemeal pittas and hummus as a snack for the daytime. Cheaper than crisps and keeps the hunger pangs away till lunch (although waft some cake in front of me and I will leap for it!)

Sort of making it my mission to keep reducing my food bills, to save money to hopefully buy my own property and for when the day comes and I have wee little ones running around :)

    Happy mothers day x :j

Another use up week this week to help reign in my spending.
Sunday- The family are cooking  Nothing too testing mind just bangers, mash and mushroom and onion gravy with peas.
Monday- Corned beef hash, I'll do it today in the sc to heat up after work.
Tuesday- King prawn stir fry with samosa and spring rolls.
Wednesday- I'm going to try making ham and egg pie as Flos looked so nice the other day in the what are you making for dinner thread, we'll have chips and peas with it.
Thursday- Southern fried chicken with wedges and coleslaw.
Friday- Spicy chicken wings with noodles, samosas and spring rolls.
Saturday- Pizza and garlic bread night.

I should only need to buy the coleslaw as I have everything else in. Fingers crossed for a very low spend week.
I just need to plan lunches and snacks now. I'll have a nosey in the cupboards.
Our plan has changed for the day as the kids are eating out with friends so it is just us grown ups.
I have a tiny bit of cooking bacon left so I am going to boil some rice in ham stock and turmeric. I'll then fry off the bacon bits, an onion, garlic, and mushrooms. Add a knob of butter and stir fry the rice in to it. In the last few minutes I'll throw in a handfull of peas and top with a hard boiled egg.
This is really nice and I'll take leftovers to work on Friday.

It will save me an evening meal for next week :j

I'm also making some pate today with left over liver I have. That will do a supper with crackers or HM cheese biscuits.

I hope everyone is having a good week and sticking to plan x :)
