I went to check out rather than just putting in my basket and it came to £69. I would see if they could take some more off it though as they don't have the model you originally bought.

If you are looking to buy from Hobbycraft, then it would be worth signing up to their Hobbycraft Club. This will give you a 15% discount voucher that you can use online or in store. I've found that they accept it quite happily, even on discounted items. If you are already a member, then it might be an idea to ask a friend to sign up (or use a different email address) and give you the voucher as it's a decent saving on a large item like a sewing machine.

I think with sewing machines, you get what you pay for. I bought a £99 John Lewis machine and had lots of problems with picking up the bobbin thread. It would take me dozens of goes to get it to work. I could manage to use it for basic sewing but have now replaced it with an all singing and dancing Janome.

I wonder if my JL one had the same problems as yours though? I didn't take it back, as I thought it was just poor quality but could be worth a try I guess.
