My solicitor told me that all she needs them to do is amend the purchase price on the certificate of title as it affects the amount of deposit and stamp duty we have to pay - she mentioned nothing about the possibility of a re-valuation.
The mortgage advisor I spoke to today was the one who mentioned the re-valuation issue although admittedly, he said that he hadn't come across this before and would ask his manager for advice on Monday. I'm hoping that the manager will advise that we don't need it re-valued. We'll see!
I am intending to be a little harder on the sellers - once I hear back on (hopefully) Monday, I'll contact the agents to advise that whilst we are doing everything we can to get an amended mortgage offer, they'll need to wait for us.0 -
I would be more than annoyed if our sellers tried this one! I certainly wouldn't be working to their timescales, I'd probably walk away rather than try to find an extra six grand because they think this is how much the house has gone up in eight weeks.
They are trying it on, surely?0 -
Tell them to shove their six grand up their !!!!!s.0
