Hi all,
Basically, my friend met this guy online who said she could make thousands of pounds instantly on the day if she did something for him. The thing she had to do was take out several phone contracts and he said he had someone who works in HR who would cancel the contracts straight away so she'd basically be quids in as she'd have the handsets (which he'd buy off her there and then) and nothing to pay. So she took out the four contracts, with him, they went in store together and then he stole the phones and coincidentally didn't have anyone in HR to cancel them so now she is left with four 2 year £200 a month contracts with no handsets. He has her bank details, address, everything as he stole the whole bag with everything in. My question is.. Where does she stand legally? The police have said they basically cannot do anything and the phone companies are refusing to cancel the contracts even though they have never been opened or used.
With reference to the 192.com credits.. After doing some research, I found the thief on the website but the website is saying I need to pay in order to get his full address so that he can be taken to the small claims court. Is anyone out there that has 192.com credits that would be willing to allow me use one please? Such a shame. Young girl living alone part time with thousands to pay. Manipulated by someone who she thought she could trust.
