I'm not sure what system I'm on, not the first one though. I'm 100% behind NRP's paying their way, I just don't like the way csa doesn't consider the NRP's circumstances after the split.
Its always been like that, I ended up living in my vehicle...I will never forgive them for that.

In my case my ex was cheating with my best friend behind my back and when I found out they ran hundreds of miles away. She deprived me of seeing my daughter for a year, only legal threats sorted it in the end (cost me 2.5k, she got legal aid.....)
What a disgrace that she got legal aid and you didnt

I paid her from my bank into her account all that time
Did they take that money into account when they came to assess you or was it money lost to you?

then out of spite she got the CSA involved because she lost on the legal side. I've still got to pay all the travel costs to see my daughter every 6 weeks though.
I do appreciate that wouldnt be easy for a lot of people. It does depend on personal circumstances.
Would your ex be prepared to meet you somewhere half way between the two of you so that you can see your child.

Sorry for the rant, I just hate seeing decent people who only want the best for their children getting shafted.
Cant see that changing anytime soon

The poster said that this was before the CSA were involved, so any payments made (or not made) would be irrelevant.

    Is that correct?
The NRP has the option NOT to report a change of their circumstances?

Yes, it's absolutely correct - unless he is paying by DEO in which case new employer details will be required.
There are many similar threads about NRPs going self employed and worrying about the impact of their payments reducing. There is no need for this to happen, they can either not report the change or they can continue to pay the higher liability.

It is a very long time since I was involved with the CSA.

We don't speak because of the circumstances of our split (her running off with my best friend); she's scared of me bumping into him again. It's a stupid situation but at least I have regular contact now.

Agreed, having regular contact is a priority
