Twitter Comping - "RT to enter"...

Right, just wanted to double check how everyone enters the 'RT to enter' competitions - simple as it sounds, I notice there are 2 methods-
1. Clicking 'retweet' - so it appears on your timeline as a... well... retweet.
2. Copying a status, pasting it as your status with 'RT' at the front. (As the auto enter on 'Twitaculous' does).
Now I would have thought the first one is the standard way of doing it, but the second one captures specific hashtags.
Any thoughts on which way is technically 'correct'? And would doing the second method invalidate your entry?
Thanks!

The way comps are picked vary, if they say 1 RT only in strict t&cs, I only RT the original tweet.
Otherwise many people do both to make sure they are entered, and that the tweet is seen.
It's up to you, some do both, or one or the other. I find Twitter incredibly random, and have even seen people win from RTing other compers original tweets... strange indeed.
Good luck.Wishing you all good luck!

If you RT the first way, by clicking on retweet, it should show up as a RT under the original tweet, so it's easier for the original tweeter to find the RTs... plus, if you're using your regular twitter account to do this, people can block your RTs from their timeline if they find them annoying. When you copy and paste, as far as I'm aware they can't choose to block them. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
