Does having Solar installed effect your ability to switch supplier in the future, or does it make it more complicated ?

No.
Your FIT payment and energy suppliers are seperate contracts.
So in my case my energy is supplied by Ovo (some smaller companies don't do FIT) but my FIT is provided by Npower.
Npower don't care who my provider is, as they are only conserned with paying me for my generation.0 -
My supplier only pays FIT to its own customers, and if you change supplier then the FIT payment need to be re-registered with your new supplier.0

Care to name and shame them?
My FiTs supplier will only take customers from themselves and any of the small suppliers who aren't obliged to offer the FiT. They won't accept applications from any of the other "big 6"
As for swapping supplier, I've switched twice so far and left my FiTs with my original supplier.2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -
Just had confirmation from First Utility that if I switched supplier I have the choice to retain the original FIT management or change to the new supplier.0

They might not take on new FIT payments for non customers but are you sure that they will stop paying your FITs if you move supplier?
We've moved supplier several times but FITs are still paid by BG.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
AFAIK All of the big suppliers must offer to administer FIT If either:
1) you are their customer
OR
2) your electricity is supplied by one of the smaller companies who are not obliged to offer FIT
This ensures that everyone has access to a FIT provider.
Of course, they can choose to continue to administer your FIT if you move your electricity contract elsewhere, even if they are not obliged to.
Alternatively you could choose to move to a smaller FIT provider such as good energy or ecotricityWe need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.
