Halifax credit check

Hi
I went to the Halifax today to get an Mortgage Promise. They agreed to lend me a more than adequate amount but said that due to my credit score I would have to put down a minimum of 15% deposit. I was hoping to apply for a mortgage with a 10% deposit. Anyway, that bit aside, they said the reason my credit score was not the best it could be was because I am not on the electoral role and that I have not had any other credit accounts before. This is completely incorrect as I am on the electoral roll and I have had 25 previous credit accounts which are now all settled. The mortgage advisor said that there could be 2 credit profiles for me held by the credit reference agencies and recommended I contact them to check this. I purchased my Experian credit report and got a free one from Callcredit and viewed both of them. Both of these show the 25 previous accounts and both confirm that I am on the electoral roll. In fact the Experian one shows the Halifax credit check from this morning on it. I telephoned Experian and explained what the Halifax had said and they could not understand it either. They confirmed that they only have one profile for me. I am trying to obtain my Equifax report as well to see what that one says. I am really confused as to what has happened and what to do about it? It is not so much the issue that I need a 15% deposit but more the fact that the information they seem to be getting from my credit check does not match what my credit reports say. Does anyone have any advice about what I could do about this?

If you see the system they use when doing a dip, it doesn't show any detail at all, they just input your information and hit the enter key, then it comes back with a decision...
That's all I saw on the screen in any case.0 -
Full names spelled correctly?
Middle name(s) entered?
Full address history?
Correct date of birth?
Any of the above, slightly incorrect, can lead to a false result.I am a mortgage broker.
