your new thread would last longer if you didn't all spend the first two/three pages saying thankyou for a new thread! :D

I sometimes wonder just how much more we'd all accomplish if no-one ever said hello, thank you or goodbye to each other (those parting greetings, in particular, alone can sometimes take ages:eek:), but that would just be impoliteness. (It does strike a slight chord with me though: it can be, let me be bluntly honest and truthful again, a little irksome sometimes to have to do these niceties (in RL) - pointless social things that don't achieve anything - although yea, they do make other people happy which I suppose is a good enough reason - but yes my slightly autistic nature does mean I ponder issues such as this one on a regular basis - I guess I just often wonder "why?" in respect of everything:eek:.)

Yes, but a 'thank you' doesn't cost anything - and it's all about saving money:)

Wrong! (:oHow dare I exclaim this?)
Stopping to say 'thank you' does cost time, and therefore money:).

Although despite disagreeing on your basis, I agree on a different basis instead and, on that, I still think thank you's a good thing (thank yous that are meant that is, not ones that are saying the opposite of what they mean - e.g. 'thank you' to someone who is actually a bore, now that is not a nice thank you, depending on the tone in which it is said).

You would be at home on Kronos (Klingon homeworld), they do not have a word for hello or thank-you. Only problem being that most things are achieved by fighting or killing, you become the captain of a starship by killing your superior, repeatedly LD
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

but you could do that by simply thanking the first post :)

Let's try that next time. Em, um...:)

Ok, whoever starts the next thread in however many weeks in the future, I'll just thank the post and otherwise ignore it. See if it works, give it a go!!
