I guess I best get to bed.

    Seeing Miranda later today.

We will wave to you from the cheap seats!

We need to be there early as we are hoping to move DS and DD seats to the disabled area as he has broken his foot and she has fractured her elbow!

    Such fun! :rotfl:

Good morning all! Taken the car for its MOT. Quite some way across sarf London from where I live. Looking in the shop window of the shops here one, a solicitors, specialises in "crimal law" according to the lettering on its window.

Glad it wasn't just me last night. I too could not sleep after reading all about savings last night. It really is a mine field.

I used to be a really good saver, had an isa plus a savings account and would juggle money here and there for the best rates. That was pre monkeys and pre mortgage:eek:

But I'm seriously going to look into this... Not that I really understand as we don't really have savings or anything "spare"... Don't really know where to start.....

If you have a mortgage look at First Direct offset mortgage- I keep banging on about it but it is fabarooney. You don't need to shop around then for best rates on savings etc.

I usually read a few other forums. I do the sealed pot challenge (even though not registered).
I have one pot for £1 and £2 coins and another for bits and bobs. I am not really a cash person as I think harder about spending on my card but my bits and bobs pot is over half ful:eek: Because I so rarely use cash I try to put all coins in.
I estimate around £7 a week some more some less.

I also like the forum where they save either to buy a considered item or to pay off a debt. Piece of paper divided into 100 squares. Amount needed divided into 100.
so item costing £299 would be 100 x £2.99. Then quite often they use other decluttering challenges to sell unwanted bits to raise target.

Promised mum I would clear and catigories art room while she is away but thing I need to get rid of the debris of my life hanging around and I will then have a clearer head.

Many of us do not have the spare income to open lots of accounts although I do think first direct iss the one to start with.

For now I will stick with my sealed boxes and second purse (which I use when I buy glitches from my stash) this helps generate cash for ready to buy more glitches.

I was told when I joined here it would take me two years to get together an adequate stash and money freed up ready for next glitch. This is definately right and I am 19 months in now. I am hitting the 3v cards bigtime and try to divert all my spending into them
This is a long haul life time project which gets easier over time.

I am up as grumpy dgd has chicken pox and grumpy dd keeps updating me via text. Surely make sense for one of us to get some sleep.
    Night
    V x

Enjoy and do not worry about what you havent yet got to grips with. When you are ready help is alwasy available here

    A Really helpful post, Thankyou.

3v I really need to pay more attention... Are these the ones you buy in mr t, to get cc points? Then go to a web site and exchange for sada vouchers to use for shopping instead of cash??

    Thankyou:)

You would think someone like that would actually know how to spell :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Mind you, I have been known to deliberately misspell something to get people to come to our stand at exhibitions, amazing how many people can't resist popping in and telling you about the spelling :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
