When you DIY, you make the decisions. That is the whole point of it. There is no point asking others what they would do as you have no idea of their knowledge, experience, risk profile, capacity for loss, how active they are in rebalancing the portfolio or what due diligence they have carried out.

It would be better if you tell us what you think you want to do and then let us pick holes in it ;)

Buy a copy of Smarter Investing (Hale) or Investing Demystified (Kroijer) - they give you an idea of portfolio's; or Google Lazy Portfolio's and adapt them; or buy S/H US Books such as All about Asset Allocation (Ferri), Asset Allocation Balancing Financial Risk (Gibson).

Is that 0.25% instead of the new 0.45%?.

    How did you manage that?

I wouldnt be surprised if the FCA take an interest in HL's pricing policy. 0.45% if you dont complain but 0.25% if you do is unethical.

Really? But it's OK for IFAs to haggle discounts on products (eg annuities) is it?

I think there is a difference between two commercial entities haggling, and charges to customers?

One is commerce, and there are rules under fair trading for the other?
