So, you'll already be debt-free 13 months earlier than if you'd have gone with a consolidation loan, as well as the savings in interest
Best of luck with getting that date even closer! It's definitely doable! :T. Best of luckIt all takes time and time is money,
money talks and talk is cheap.

I'm always impressed by anybody raising such a large family, I could/would not do it. Just in case nobody has said it to you recently... WELL DONE.
I'm going to throw one constructive opinion in though.... An intelligent conversation with a child about why they can't have a new bike is a much better bit of parenting than just buying them one. Try it, they might respect you more than they ever have before.
I'm not saying they don't respect you so please take in the way it is meant. I'm saying that accepting the reality of financial situations can be beneficial to the whole family, and part of education for kids that is missing from the classroom.0 -
Or could you offer to put towards a laptop/large gift instead, then the rest has to come from other birthday money gifts or saving the rest to buy it herself? I think a laptop is a huge gift!Debt at LBM July 2013: [STRIKE]£46,085.88[/STRIKE] Debt today: £36,501.67
20.8% down, 79.2% to go!
The quicker I'm debt free, the quicker I'll be Mrs. H! Date to beat: April 20180 -

The children do know we cant just afford to buy big things and DD has asked for the money to put towards one, so at least that's something. They seem to understand that as there is 5 of them they cant have lots for birthdays etc, it's me that feels guilty.

I'm a bit confused too, so an explanation of the above might help. If you have £750 spare each month, have your circumstances changed a lot since you built up the debt? Obviously someone living with a surplus generates savings, not debt.
I ask because it's more common than you might think for people to ask for help here who say, essentially "I spend less than I bring in, I've a good surplus. I'm getting deeper and deeper into debt".
If that's your situation, then the best advice is probably different from what would be best if you genuinely are managing to already reduce your debts at a good pace.0
