I had £100k endowments, they paid out £60k.
Referred to Ombudsman, they said no.
Can I do anything?

You could make a somewhat vague post on MSE about it...saving, saving, saving!0

Your next step would be court.
However if the ombudsman has said no then i would be very surprised if a court would do anything more as the ombudsman tends to lean more in the clients favour.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. A shortfall is not grounds for complaint. Your complaint would be an allegation of wrongdoing about the sale.
The firm have said no. The ombudsman has said no. They use the regulated complaints process which is actually a bit consumer biased and they take fairness into account and disregard a number of documents as evidence that the courts would not. Plus, with courts, the onus is on you to prove a wrongdoing. Plus, seeing as its been over a decade since the retail of the last endowment and yours matured, its probable you are talking about one set up over 15 years ago. So, it could be statute barred in a court case.
Without detail, we cant really offer any other opinion. However, if an ombudsman has said no, then its usually game over.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
