I work for a large bakery, they have recently been cuuting the hours in the shops, the latest hours don't even cover the contracted hours for the staff in the shop, we have been told we may have to work at a different shop to make our hours up,
what im asking is what if the other local shops haven't got hours available either, does my employee need to stick my contracted hours and pay
thanks in advance

It's your employER. (You are an employee.)
They can, ultimately, reduce your contracted hours. Whether in the meantime they have to pay you for all your contracted hours depends on whether there is a right to do so in your contract documentation.
What does your USDAW rep say? (If you are in that union.)0 -
Hi liverpool34, if it does come to a situation whereby the other local shops don’t have any additional hours, dropping your hours would amount to a change of contract.
For a bit more info it might be worth talking to the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) about your situation in further detail.
If this does happen I suppose you’re left with decision of whether to accept the changes or whether you need to find additional or alternative employment. If you need any help with that feel free to pop by and ask.
Below I’ve included some links to the resources on our website that you may find useful. If you find you need to develop a CV you may find our CV advice helpful. There are also some useful tips on writing a cover letter and how to prepare for an interview.
Good luck, I hope it all works out and that there are enough hours for you. Either way you’ll get plenty of support from the users of this forum and do please feel free to pop by and ask any questions.

You "may" be looking at a statutory guarantee pay scenario.
