They obviously want to sell more. OMG. The prices!! For that amount of money I'd expect more than a 1-bed apartment.

I'd be more bothered about the weekly management charge - fixed for the first year only.

Bit like Holiday shares, but permanent. Worth a punt for a weekend break, subject to availability as long as the program isn't a period of hard sell. Buyer beware etc.

Just like timeshare, they have two whole days to work the hard sell on you.

Channel 4 Dispatches programme highlighted McCarthy Stone sales tactics and there are numerous horror stories about this company all over the Internet.

My friend bought a non McCarthy & Stone place with management charges, then lost her job. She would be managing fine on a greatly reduced income, but for these punitive costs.
Before she bought her place we had looked wistfully at developments in Southport and the Isle of Wight. What a nightmare they are for so many.

  • And there was me thinking that one of my kids had sent this to me via McCarthy Stone as a hint to get rid of me. Ha Ha:rotfl:

I got it through the post this morning.
