A problem with too many retweets?

Just read this on competition grape vine
"Twitter filters accounts it considers to be "poor quality" out when searches are run. And one of the criteria for judging a "poor quality" account is that it consists of nothing but retweets. So when a competition closes and a promoter searches for entries, yours may not show up."
I wasn't aware of this and it may be a reason why some people never win Twitter competitions. The web site suggest 1 in 10 tweets should be personal tweets.
Any thoughts on this?
I can see I'm going to have to start talking to myself:eek:

Alice came to a fork in the road. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

Rather than talking to yourself, why not try chatting to other compers just saying things like "congratulations - great prize" when you see a winner announced, or responding to general tweets that the people you follow say. If for example they say "anyone watching Eastenders?" You could reply.0 -
Marg the prob is to many tweets and to many accounts we as I one account one tweet no chance0

this is why i have always made a few comments everyday about any random item0

Haven't made a personal comment on my twitter for months. Still winning around one a week sometimes more so can't see how this can be true0

You can win plenty from one account, I have done over the years.
I try to add a bit of random commentary in, either by chatting about random things, uploading a photo or two - or just sending lucky dust to others.
I use it to chat to my sister and friends from the school though, so its more than just a comp portal for me.
Some companies will not pick people who look like dedicated compers, others pick from the last 50 or so who have entered.. its really hit and miss.
The problem really is the fact that theres no 100% method of picking winners, I read Janes grapevine's blog post on it a while back after running her own online contest..
Many of the entries were not received by her email set up - and there were some bots who were tweeting at regular intervals.. Many just spam, and in doing so tend to win. Some enter multiple times after the contest has ended, because they have won that way.
Just keep entering ^^ and hopefully winning xx
Sending luck ^^Wishing you all good luck!
