Can you use Fairy Tablets for handwash?

Hiya everyone. We're off on holiday next week and I would like to take some wash stuff just in case. Have found an old packet of Fairy Non Bio tablets from a Bounty bag- can I use these to handwash?

Many thanks

I would imagine they'd be fine if you could get them to disolve properly...haven't used tablets for a long time, they used to be quite crumbly but if they are hard maybe they'd disolve in a cup of boiling water. you don't want to end up with flecks of powder on your washing.

Or else just use shampoo or shower gel for handwashing - it's all detergent so will do the same job (imho!)

    have a lovely holiday

Thank you so much! Only going to Pontins for four days, but my little boy only has 5 trousers so this is never going to last. Will give both methods a go. Thank you

  • Yes, they'd be fine and as phizzimum says above, just check the 'dissolvability' of them - I had some really hard laundry tabs gifted to me once and I just smacked them with a rolling pin, still in their little plastic bags!

You'd only need 1/2 a tab for a sink full of quick laundry :)

Be careful with black clothes though. I did this once and my black tops were covered in white crumbly powder as they didn't dissolve properly lol. I tend to use liquid soap, shampoo or shower gel if I'm washing whilst on holiday and the clothes just need refreshed x
