How Do People Finance Holiday Chalets?

once you have purchased the chalet, you will need to be super rich to keep it running. ground rent / maintenance around 3k pa
council tax another 1k pa not to mention up keep and repairs, all to go to the same place all the time. i'd consider getting a new dream0 -
Hi
I'm that caravans rapidly depreciate in value, and last about 10 years. I couldn't bring myself to spend that amount on the caravan, and ground rent, knowing that eventually it will be worth zero.
Chalets don't sound like a brilliant option either, to be honest. Prob best going for a cheap stone built property!
I'm not going to give up the dream yet, CityKid. My brother has got access to a holiday home (it's more like a 2nd home), and he is never away from it. The attraction is the sea, mountains, forests, of the area, which can easily be driven to within 2 hours.
Cheers
