even if we put 20k upfront? have a perfect credit score, and proof of earnings showing a decent amount?

i do get what your saying tough. obviously if you default on a mortgage they get the asset...

What do you mean, though, by putting "20k upfront"? You are asking for an unsecured loan, there iis no "upfront" payment on this.

To borrow £100k unsecured you will likely need to earn circa £200k per year. If you don't, it's very unlikely that anyone will lend you that much money.

If they move everyone out then they will find your parents another house, if they like that then surely they can see about buying that one?
  • The whole thing is a non starter. No mortgage company will offer a mortgage with even just a sniff of a possible compulsory purchase order on it just around the corner.

And make no mistake, if you know about a possible compulsory purchase, so will those doing a property search.

If the houses are knocked down, you parents will be rehoused. If you buy it you will likely get something like 'market price' (as calculated by the council) plus maybe 5% or a few thousands. Which may well not be enough to buy a new place. Why the need to buy anyway?

No money lender will lend this sum without security in which to secure the loan against.
